For those who have seen the work of Ronald Ventura, you cannot help but notice his mastery of the human body. His ability to almost hyper realistically replicate (and at the same distort) the human form is a spectacle in itself. Ayala Museums is to showcase various sized pieces from Ventura, from 1998 ‘til the mid 2000s in a special exhibit entitled Ronald Ventura: Big and Small, Joel Mendez, MD Collection. This exhibit promises to showcase rarely seen works from one of Asia’s finest contemporary artists. His uniquely Filipino approach to sophisticated forms is masterful, and should be one of your art destinations this summer.
This special collection will be shown from March 17 to April 26 at the Ayala Museum Ground Floor Gallery. The picture is of Ronald Ventura’s IN MEMORIAL (Detail) from 2001, taken from Joel Mendez, MD’s Personal Collection. Photo taken from https://ayalamuseum.org
Though the exhibit is an amazing addition, the museum’s permanent collection is always worth a visit. From the dioramas, to the ceramics, to the gold collections, Ayala Museum looks to inspire visitors of any age range.
