Art in The Park 2015: The Most Accessible Art Fair in the Metro
One of the highlights of the summer has always been Art in the Park. Once a year (this year on March 22), the Jaime Velasquez Park in Salcedo Village brings the art makers, art aficionados, and art enthusiasts of all ages together for what is quite possibly the most accessible art fair in the Metro.

The one day, cannot miss, art fair, however, ditches the pretense that most would associate with a discriminating art scene, if only for a day. All day, you can find cool art, unusual art, but always truly Filipino Art, all of which is ripe for the picking. Name your medium, and it has, in all likelihood, been featured at Art in the Park. To date, the following have been spotted at the park: traditional and large format acrylic painting, scrap iron sculpture, pop art in all its various shapes and forms, vinyl figurine shaping, obscure format photography, origami, on the spot portraits with felt pens, cotton candy sculpting (which of course is edible), cubed elephant sculpture…you name it Art in the Park has probably seen it. It is with the utmost certainty that you will find something you like. Some artists go out of their way to craft pieces that are only available at Art in the Park, as well as giving a friendlier (but not necessarily cheap) price range for those in attendance.
Art in the Park is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 23 at the Jaime Velasquez Park in Salcedo. The event will be open from 10am to 10. We recommend you dress for comfort, and enjoy a great midsummer’s night filled with art.
