The concrete jungle that is Makati has always been a marvel to walk around. While most citizens travel in a car, or a jeepney, they tend to miss out on some of the urban wonders of the city. The 70s saw the establishment of several buildings that have become architectural institutions in Makati. Monuments to our national heroes Gabriella Silang, Sultan Kudarat, Pio del Pilar, and Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino stand as vigilant sentinels along the Ayala Triangle area, watching the traffic go by. Taking a walk, or a jog around the Paseo de Roxas area gives you the opportunity to see all of the statues in their bronze glory. Best of all, it’s free.
