Lagavulin 16

The Islay representative in the 'Classic Malts' series is a deep, dry and exceptionally peaty bruiser. Probably the most pungent of all Islay malts, Lagavulin is not for the faint-hearted but inspires fanatical devotion in its many followers.

Balvenie Double Wood 12

One of the classic after-dinner malts, Balvenie Doublewood's extra complexity and richness are a result of a second maturation in fresh sherry casks.

Macallan 12 Sherry Oak

A Sherry wood matured 12 year old from Macallan, a superbly balanced affair, one of the best of its age group. Medium-body and quite firm. There are notes of hot pastries and marmalade, sultanas and peels with a developing sweetness from the barley sugar.

Glenfiddich 18

An elegant nose, faintly sweet, scented with apple and wood. Glenfiddich 18yo is a robust and full-bodied single malt whisky, yet remains remarkably soft, rounded and long lasting.

Glenlivet 12

One of the most famous malts in the world. Glenlivet 12yo has a soft smooth balance of sweet summer fruits and the floral notes of spring flowers.

Glenmorangie Original 10

The 'original' sets a high standard for Highland whisky, and has gone from strength to strength since its slightly controversial packaging redesign a few years ago. Medium-bodied and gently warming, with pleasant spicy notes.

Jura Light and Delicate

A core bottling from the Isle of Jura's only distillery. This 10 year old has exhibits the distillery's classic oily, briny characteristics. It is more a medium-bodied with a delicate sweet palate, with a hint of brine developing on the finish. A great introductory malt.

Bunnahabhain 12

This entry level Bunnahabhain bottling comes in a redesigned bottle. This 12 year old is lightly peated for an Islay single malt and consequently is a light, fresh dram. Now at the higher strength of 46.3% - for more complexity and flavour.

Ardbeg 10

For peat lovers, Ardbeg 10 Year Old is probably the highest-quality 'entry-level' single malt on the market, and the distillery many Islay connoisseurs would choose as their favourite. A whirlwind of peat and complex malty flavours.
