Take in the Architectural Icons

After your sojourn to see the statues, you may be interested in seeing some iconic buildings in Makati. Right beside Ayala Triangle, you can find Ayala Tower One and Exchange Plaza. Take in the timeless covered plaza, that can make you feel small. But do make sure you aren’t in the way of busy businessmen.

Designed by architectural firm Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, LLP and opened May 27, 1963.

In recent years, larger structures in Makati have risen up to modern design, and environmental challenges. The Zuellig Building is one of those new kids on the block. Also designed by Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, the building is one of the few in Asia with a platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating for green architecture.

It also makes a great picture with their reflective glass panel.

Another unique building in the area is Discovery Primea. Designed by architectural god, Kenzo Tange, and standing proudly where the famed Gilarmi Apartments once were, Primea breathes new life into Makati’s skyline.

Being one of the tallest buildings on Ayala Avenue, Discovery Primea truly sets itself apart.
